FOUNDATION CAMP

    Overview

Foundation Camp is an enriching two-week summer camp designed for young men ages 10-14, held on the Rome campus of Georgia Highlands College (GHC). Through a collaborative partnership between GHC and the 100 Black Men of Rome-Northwest Georgia Inc., the camp provides a holistic experience that includes academics, athletics, and a variety of enrichment activities. The goal of Foundation Camp is to immerse campers in a positive, supportive environment where they can develop critical skills in leadership, teamwork, and personal growth, while experiencing life on a college campus. All campers receive breakfast, lunch, and transportation within the Rome, Georgia city limits, all at no cost thanks to generous donations from the community.

    Mission

The mission of Foundation Camp is to empower young men through mentorship, education, and exposure to positive role models, fostering leadership, teamwork, and academic growth. By providing an enriching summer experience, we aim to inspire campers to pursue higher education, develop strong values, and build lasting skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.

    Purpose

The purpose of Foundation Camp is to provide young men with a unique opportunity to grow and learn in a structured, positive environment. By combining academic enrichment with athletic and recreational activities, the camp fosters a sense of teamwork and leadership while allowing campers to explore the possibilities of higher education. We aim to encourage young men to dream big, work hard, and realize their potential. Through mentorship and community support, Foundation Camp is committed to shaping the leaders of tomorrow, today.

    Impact to the Community

Foundation Camp has a lasting and transformative impact on the local community by providing an educational and supportive environment for youth in Rome, Georgia and surrounding areas. Each year, the camp helps young men build a strong foundation for their futures by teaching essential life skills such as leadership, responsibility, and collaboration. The program not only strengthens the personal development of each camper, but also contributes to the community by creating a new generation of confident, motivated, and positive young leaders. Through our partnership with Georgia Highlands College and the 100 Black Men of Rome-Northwest Georgia Inc., we continue to nurture the potential of local youth, providing them with the tools they need to succeed both academically and personally.

    Support Foundation Camp

Foundation Camp is offered at no cost to families, and every donation helps us continue providing meaningful experiences that shape young boys into strong, respectful, and confident young men. While there’s absolutely no obligation to give, your support—big or small—helps us reach even more kids and make an even greater impact.

Thank you for believing in our mission!
